Blackouts apply in the United States and Canada while every NBA game is available live with League Pass in other countries. Blackout restrictions exist because local and national content providers have certain exclusive rights to show live games and content. The audio of games remains available during live game blackouts.

Fans in the United States should be able to watch a blacked out game either through a regional sports network in their area or through a national broadcaster or streaming platform carrying the game, such as ESPN, ABC, NBC, Peacock, or Amazon Prime Video.

Fans in the United States can enter their zip code on the NBA League Pass package page to see which local NBA teams are blacked out. 

Fans in Canada can review the Canadian Broadcast Schedule to see which games are blacked out. 

How does NBA League Pass determine my location for blackouts?

NBA League Pass determines your blackout restrictions based on the location of the device accessing NBA League Pass. The device location is identified through its IP address or location services, if location services are turned on. If your location changes, your blackout restrictions for live, locally televised games will also change. 

Within the US and Canada, a zip code is used to determine what teams are covered by your local broadcaster. If your location changes, blackout restrictions for live games may also change. 

Can I watch NBA Cup, NBA All-Star, NBA Playoffs, and NBA Finals on NBA League Pass?

Availability of NBA tentpole events like Emirates NBA Cup, All-Star, and Playoffs differs between the US and Canada.

Can I watch NBA Summer League live on NBA League Pass?

California Classic and Utah Summer League games are available live and on-demand globally with an NBA League Pass subscription. Las Vegas NBA Summer League availability depends on the viewer's location and subscription.

How do I fix an incorrect NBA League Pass blackout or wrong location?

NBA league Pass blackouts are determined by the location of the device accessing League Pass.  If you believe that your League Pass blackouts are being applied incorrectly, we recommend trying the steps below to see if you are able to access the expected games. 

  1. Access on a different platform or browser
  2. Clear your device or browser's cache and cookies
  3. If you are watching via the NBA app, uninstall and reinstall the NBA app
  4. If you are watching via a Wi-Fi, reset your Wi-Fi router and modem
  5. If you are watching on a mobile device, switch between mobile data and Wi-Fi and try the game again
