League Pass Blackouts

Every NBA game is available live with NBA League Pass in every country except the US and Canada due to blackouts. Blackout restrictions exist because local and national content providers have certain exclusive rights to show live games and content. The audio of games that are blacked out will be available to listen to live.

What games are blacked out on NBA League Pass in the US and Canada?

In the US, blackout restrictions include your local NBA team(s) and all nationally broadcast games. Locally broadcast games will be available for viewing on-demand on NBA League Pass 3 days after the live broadcast concludes. Nationally broadcast games will be available for viewing on-demand on NBA League Pass at 6:00am ET the following day. For US fans, to check which NBA team(s) are blacked out in your area, please search your Zip Code on the League Pass purchase page.

In Canada, blackout restrictions include all nationally broadcast games. Nationally broadcast games will be available for viewing on-demand roughly 3 hours after the game has concluded. For Canadian fans, to check which games are blacked out in your area, please see the Canadian Blackout Schedule here

Blackouts are specific to your current location, so if your location changes, your blackout restrictions for live, locally televised games will also change. Your location is determined by the IP address or location services (if turned on). Within the US and Canada, a zip code is used to determine what teams are covered by your local broadcaster.

In addition to local and national broadcast blackouts, in the US, fans will not have live viewing access through NBA League Pass for the Emirates NBA Cup Semi-Final and Final games, All-Star Weekend or the Playoffs, as these events will be shown on TV in local markets. In Canada, fans will not have live viewing access through NBA League Pass for certain Emirates NBA Cup games, All-Star Weekend, or Playoffs after Round 1.

How can I troubleshoot if my blackouts are incorrect?

Blackouts are determined by the location of the device accessing League Pass. If you believe that your League Pass blackouts are being applied incorrectly, we recommend trying the steps below to see if you are able to access the expected games.

  1. Access on a different platform or browser
  2. Clear your device or browser's cache and cookies
  3. If you are watching via the NBA app, uninstall and reinstall the NBA app
  4. If you are watching via a Wi-Fi connection, reset your Wi-Fi router and modem
  5. If you are watching on a mobile device, try viewing on mobile data vs. Wi-Fi

If you continue to experience incorrect blackouts, please reach out to our support team here. Please include the zip code and IP address that you are viewing games from so that we can investigate.
