Updating your NBA App

Keeping the NBA App up to date ensures you always have the newest features, performance improvements, and important bug fixes. If you’re experiencing issues, please make sure you’re running the latest version of the app. Follow the steps below to check for updates on your device and install the newest release so you never miss out on enhancements or important stability improvements.

 

Mobile

  1. On your home screen, tap the App Store/Google Play app store icon.
  2. Tap the Account profile icon.
  3. Tap Apps/Manage apps & device
  4. Tap the Update button on the NBA: Live Games & Scores app.
  5. Wait until the update is finished then launch the app.

Apple TV

  1. Go into the App Store
  2. Search for the NBA app
  3. Select the NBA App
  4. If there is an Update button, then an update is available. If there is an Open button, then there is no update available.
  5. Click on the Update button - if available - and the app will start updating

*If you would like your device to update automatically, turn ON the ‘Update Automatically’ option

Amazon Fire TV

  1. On your home screen, click the settings button
  2. Navigate to Applications
  3. Click on Appstore
  4. Click on Automatic Updates to turn it ON

Android TV

  1. On your Android TV, open the Google Play Store
  2. At the top, go to your profile
  3. Go to Manage apps and games
  4. Hover over the "Updates" button
  5. Under ‘updates available’, you’ll find apps that can be updated. Select the NBA App to update

*If you would like your device to update automatically, within ‘My Apps’ on the Google Play Store, select ‘Open settings’ and then select ‘Auto-update apps’

PlayStation

  1. Highlight the NBA App thumbnail in your games home and press the option button to display the options menu
  2. Select ‘Check for an update’
  3. If an update is available, follow the instructions to install the update

When you start the NBA App, it automatically updates to the newest version available

Roku

  1. Go to "Settings" from Roku's Home screen.
  2. From the 'Settings" scroll down and select System Update.
  3. Select "Check now".
  4. Roku will start searching for available updates. It will only take a few minutes to update a channel. After the channel update, Roku will automatically restart.
  5. You can now enjoy streaming your team's games on the NBA App.

Samsung TV

  • Enable Auto Update
    1. Press the "Home" button on your remote.
    2. Go to "Apps" and select the "Settings" icon (top right).
    3. Highlight "Auto Update" and press "Enter" to turn it "ON".
    4. Apps will update automatically when your TV is online.
  • Manually Update the NBA App
    1. In "Apps", find the NBA App.
    2. Highlight it and select "View Details".
    3. If an "Update" button appears, select it.

XBOX

  1. Open the NBA App
  2. If an update is available, a popup message will appear on your screen
