Troubleshooting Streaming Issues

If you're experiencing streaming issues on NBA.com or the NBA App, there are several quick troubleshooting steps that can help resolve the most common problems. Whether you're dealing with buffering, poor video quality, playback errors, or a stream that won't load, this guide will walk you through potential solutions. Many streaming issues can be caused by connectivity problems, outdated app versions, device settings, or temporary service disruptions.   1. Please be sure that third-party cookies are enabled by following the links to instructions for your browser below. 
    1. Safari
    2. Google Chrome
    3. Mozilla Firefox
    4. Microsoft Edge
  2. Once you have enabled cookies, please clear your cookies and cache and restart the browser. If you need instructions on clearing your cache, please click here.
  3. Try a different browser to rule out any potential browser issues
  4. If viewing on WiFi, try resetting your network  by unplugging your modem or router, waiting 1-2 minutes, and plugging it back in.

NBA App on Mobile, Tablets, Smart TVs, and Connected Devices

  1. Delete the NBA app
  2. Power off your device, wait 1-2 minutes, and turn your device back on
  3. Reinstall the NBA app from your device's app store
  4. If viewing on WiFi, try resetting your network by unplugging your modem or router, waiting 1-2 minutes, and plugging it back in.
  5. Clear your cache and/or data on mobile by following the instructions below 

Clear Cache on iOS

  1. On your device’s home screen, tap Settings
  2. Go to your device’s Apps or Application Manager. 
  3. Under the Downloaded tab, tap the NBA App
  4. Under App info, tap Clear Cache
    *In iOS version 11, the cache and data are automatically deleted from the device once the app is closed.

Clear Cache on Android

  1. On your device’s home screen, tap Settings
  2. Tap Storage 
    *If your android runs on Android Oreo or earlier, open App Manager settings page
  3. Tap Other Apps
  4. Find and tap NBA: Live Games and Scores
  5. Tap Clear Cache and Clear Data.
